PAPER GIRLS, VOL. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan, Cliff Chiang, Matthew Wilson

Series #: Paper Girls, Vol. 1
Genre: Fiction, Comics, Graphic Novels, Science Fiction, Mystery
Original Publication Date: 2016

Read: 03 Aug 2016

Summary: The early morning paper run after Halloween 1988 starts as it normally does: very early and with a run-in with rude teenagers. As a result of this altercation, Erin meets three other papergirls whose routes are near hers and then… shit gets weird. I’m talking, plot-twist, what is actually happening weird. Of course, it’s the 1980s, so that makes sense. A lot of weird shit happened in the 1980s. Now these four girls have to figure out what to do and how to keep each other safe.

Review: I honestly was not expecting this. I really can’t say much else without spoiling the entire premise of this series, but DAMN. I was really not expecting this. In a totally good way.

Recommendation: If you’re a fan of 80s nostalgia and other Brian K. Vaughan works, definitely check out Paper Girls. It’s amazing.
